Greenwich Concours d’Elegance

Long-time Greenwich residents and philanthropists Bruce and Genia Wennerstrom founded this beloved annual event in the mid-1990s. The New York Times once referred to it as a “yearly beauty contest for classic cars.”

Bruce Wennerstrom reportedly developed his affinity for fine and fast cars at a tender age. It was a passion his wife shared – a common interest that perhaps contributed to their remarkable marriage of more than 50 years. Their children and family carry on the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance tradition today.

The event also comprises an evening gala and a luxury-automobile auction hosted by Madison Avenue auction house, Bonhams.

This year’s Greenwich Concours d’Elegance will be held at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, May 29 to May 31, 2020. The event benefits two charitable organizations: Americares, a health-focused relief and development organization for communities impacted by poverty and disaster; and The Hometown Foundation, Inc., which funds community-based charities, including Special Olympics, and groups helping first responders, members of the military, and their families.

Greenwich Concours d'Elegance is a three-day invitational event for showcasing classic, vintage, luxury, and unique automobiles.

The three-day invitational event places classic, vintage, luxury and unique automobiles center stage. An entire day is devoted to the exhibition of pre- and post-WWII domestic automobiles, while a second day showcases pre- and post-WWII European sports, touring, and competition cars. Vintage motorcycles and luxury yachts are also on display.
